The Pandemic Projector Experience

The Project

Lockdown was starting to get lonely. I was missing the movie theater and I was looking for a way to make other people’s days a little bit better while honoring those who were risking it on the front lines. Armed with a projector, screen, and popcorn machine, I built a small business focusing on bringing the movies to people’s backyards while social distancing.

Creating "Rona"

COVID-19 may have suddenly appeared, but “Rona” was definitely made in my apartment. Rona was inspired by microscopic photos of the novel coronavirus with the goal of creating a friendly-looking mascot for the Pandemic Projector Experience (PPE).

Some early concepts; followed by the final version of Rona and them existing in different situations

Designing the Packages

I created 2 affordable tiers with add-ons available for purchase on the day of the event, such as a popcorn machine.

Who Doesn't Like a Deal(And a Little Donation)

I created a brand around experiencing the movies in the backyard, instead of in the theaters. 10% of every sale was donated to front-line workers.

"It's a great way for friends to safely come together, watch whatever they want on the big screen and give a little back to the community."-Ygor, Collingswood

"Whether it's by the pool or on a picnic blanket, PPE is a fun and safe way to enjoy the movies from the comfort of your own home."-Lauren, Gloucester Township
